In 2009, Austin began his career as a contract Landman working the Haynesville Shale in East Texas and the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas before moving to the Permian Basin in 2011. He worked the next six years as a Landman for Pioneer Natural Resources USA, Inc., where he was involved in multiple facets of drilling preparation and later worked on the trades team. In 2017, Austin joined Concho Resources, Inc. (now ConocoPhillips) as a Senior Landman where he helped manage their Delaware Basin assets. He joined Brigham Exploration in December 2021 and is directly involved with the growth and maintenance of their assets throughout the Permian Basin. Austin is a Certified Professional Landman, member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen, and past President of the Permian Basin Landmen’s Association
